Anyhow, we made it. We landed in Madikeri at around 5 in the morning and what a sight!! There was hardly any! Only dense fog coupled with a bit of drizzle.  Once we found our lodge we headed straight to the taxi stand to get our ride n start the exploration. We looked n looked finally striking a deal with a gentleman who promised to take us to all the tourist destinations on his trusted Amby(Ambassador).

On day 1 we covered places like Dubare forest, Nisarghadhama and the Golden Temple. I was not so excited about the places but was overwhelmed by the greenery and beauty on the journey. We passed thru coffee and pepper plantations and were greeted by thick fogs on the way. The sight of the dense forests,lush green valleys, and the breathtaking plantations as we passed through those winding roads covered by fog totally moved me. Nature had never been so appealing to me.No wonder we stopped several times just to soak the mountain air. The day’s highlight for me was definitely the journey and also the Golden Temple. I was totally blown away by that place and the Tibetan culture.

Day 2 was nothing short of a disaster. It didn’t rain, it just kept pouring. Expecting the rains to subside we started the journey towards Abbey Falls. It poured n poured, n the falls was flooded. It didn’t have that beauty that we had heard of. From there we went ahead to other places finally arriving at Thalacauvery. Now that was the best part of the trip. It was raining slightly and the mist was all around. It was as if we were at the doors of heaven!! I didn’t care and took out my camera trying to capture all the heavenly scenes around me.

Soon the rains poured again and we had to leave. The rains had totally disrupted our plans but on the hindsight we thought that the rains itself made Coorg such a visual beauty. The natural splendor and exotic scenic environment that we witnessed was totally out of the world. We plan to come back again for sure. This time not for the rains, but for some trekking and rafting that we missed out on due to bad weather.
